Waltzingmouse Stamps!!!

I've been holding this in for awhile... feels good to let the cat out of the bag! :) Claire's introducing her new DT today and little me managed to make the list with some major stamping all-stars! :) I love all the fun stamps that she's put out so far and I can't wait to see what else she has up her sleeve!

I'm going to be sharing some fun creations this week in celebration! :) I had more to share but I forgot to upload some of the pics before I left home for my business trip so we'll scatter them throughout the month!

I figured I'd show a card with Earth Angel first. I really wanted to do something fun with the girl image and the hearts. So I figured it might be fun to attach the hearts to some twine and make her appear as if she's almost swinging into air.

I stamped the hearts onto some red paper and then cut them out oh so carefully. I was originally going to do 5 but after cutting 3 out, I figured 3 was perfect! I wrapped the twine on the edge and left one long tail when I trimmed it. And of course, I had to add some scoring with my Scor-pal! :)

What's for Dinner

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I'm back in the friendly neighbor up north. :) Assuming that I didn't get stuck in customs or anything. Hah.

Just a quicky card today. I'm all about quick. The only thing I really did was pierce the holes in the scallop. I feel like it gives it a little something. Otherwise, the card just is some fun papers and chipboard. :)

I love the sentiment and the lady. Man, sometimes I wish I could ask the 'What's for dinner' question again. Alas... ;-)

Honeymoon Album

Almost Friday!! :) Yaay! There's just something about Fridays that makes me so happy.

I'm heading home today and it's also the end of the G20 summit... hopefully I'll actually be able to get home... We'll see!

So I'm not really much of a scrapper. I think I don't have the attention span -- heh. But I do love preserving our memories and mini albums are so much fun! :) I had picked up a bunch of acrylic albums before I left NC and I thought it'd make a great honeymoon album.

For the cover I used just one piece of paper -- and then added some hand cut embellishments from the paper pack as well. Added thickers...while I LOVE the vinyl thickers, they never sticker well for me. SIgh... I'll add some glue underneath later.

The paper is from SEI and I used the line for the entire album. Keeps it easy to look good, especially for an acrylic album where you do see through the pages.

I'm not going to show the entire album since it's kinda boring to see photos of me so I kinda randomly selected a page for you.

Some pages I stamped on the acrylic. Other ones have some rubons (used Amy Butler's Lotus line).

Since I didn't have any more rings, I actually used some ribbon to tie everything together. Worked really well!

Happy Hump Day everyone!

This card is for the Sweet Stop Sketch 22. There's a fun prize (the recent SNSS release) for someone who plays along! So go check it out! Since it's a 'prize' sketch, there was also a spin -- use red, black and tan. I subbed the tan for more of a cream... I'll call it light tan. Hah.

I used Waddle I Do? for this sketch. And as usual, I butchered it a little. Eh, welcome to my world. Don't ban me from all challenges! ;-)

I love little Stanley. He's so cute isn't he? :) I even hand doodled a little iceberg for him to "rest" on. I used vellum and then covered it in some clear glitter. Hard to see in the photo. I love vellum and I don't pull it out enough.

At this point I should be settled into the friendly neighbor we have up north. :) Ah, Canada! Sometimes I wonder why I don't negotiate time for a trip to the local stampy stores. If only I didn't have to come back over the weekend to make sure the hubby isn't starving...

We went to the grocery store over the weekend and he picked up some frozen pizzas and spaghettio-s... things that would NEVER make it into the house if I weren't leaving for so long. I glared until he reminded me how long I'd be out. I have some squash and chicken in the fridge for him... but somehow princess shaped spaghetti in a can >> squash. Hmm... I don't get it. Oh well.

Anyways, here's a fun bright card for you. I have SOOO much raspberry fizz that I feel obligated to keep using it. In fact, secretly a lot of my card bases are with fizz... I like to call it a fun little surprise. Hah.

Around the House 2

So the whole around the house concept is a lot of fun... and I had some fun Early Bird paper that I wanted to dig into. :) Figured I'd try the Moxie Fab "Around the House" challenge again. :)

I know that some of my friends love to bake... I kinda wish I had more people who'd eat my goodies. I used to drop them in at the office (but now my office is much smaller people wise). Baking 50 cookies just to make the hubster fat seems too much... so I save baking for special days now.

But I thought it'd be fun to send someone a little set to give cookies in.
It's been on of those weeks... But don't the bright colors make you just smile? :)

Ok, off to make dinner and the hubs still isn't feeling up to par. Hoping that I'll be spared the germs or next week away from home is going to be miserable. Also hoping for no bed bugs this time...

Around the House

Yay for lazy Saturdays! :) They're my favorite. There's something nice about just chilling and watching recorded TV.

So I have a bunch of cards for the Moxie Fab "Around the House" challenge. Make sure to check out the other entries as well... lots of good stuff!

Today was one of those days when I just didn't feel like stamping but I wanted to get some crafty moments in before I left for my business trip.

The first one was just a little diddly. Had some stickers laying around from the American Crafts Craft Fair collection. And I am always looking for ways to use those pins! :) Aren't they fun? The sentiment I wrote with my gel pen since I didn't have anything in the size I wanted.

I then decided it might be fun to continue using those stickers in a little 3 card mini set. Used different embellies for each but kept the same ribbon and general color scheme. :) Lots of fun!

Ok, I need to cut this post short as the hubs needs some soup. Off to make some chicken soup... Sorry kiddos! I'll try to update this with supplies later!

TSG20 - Pop it up

Yay for Fridays! :) Don't you just love them? :)

The challenge at the TSG blog this week was to "partially pop it up". Well, ladies, I can pop it like no other. Even being in a little crafty slump, I can still add my dimensions.

I pulled out my very first TSG set -- LOVE this snail. Isn't he adorable? I stamped the grass onto some lovely patterned paper and then cut it out. The grass is the "partially" popped part of the image -- hope this counts... it's all one image but the bottom is adhered firmly to the base of the card and the tops are popped with dimensionals (and I picked random heights too so it looks more real). Don't exactly think that's what Jessica had in mind... but you guys know me and my tendency to never properly follow challenges!

Both the snail and the sign are popped with some dimensional adhesive (speaking of which, I need some more soon). I added some decorative edging to the bottom "dirt" and the "sign". Gives it a little something w/o having to add glitter or ribbon... two things which I LOVE but the hubs hates when I pull out.

Welcome Back Newlyweds

Hope everyone had a lovely weekend:) I quite enjoyed my weekend of watching men throw logs.

If you go on any adventures with me, you'd know that I'm not very good about keeping my mouth shut... I'm probably best kept 10 feet away from people or as my hubby as learned -- with food in one hand (as I'll be too busy eating to comment)

So during the log-throwing event, I mentioned that the log seemed a wee bit small (at only 17 feet). The old man in front of us turned around and asked "Young lady, did you expect them to toss a telephone pole?" Honestly... yes... with a little booze and some Scottish brawn... ;-) Hehe, in all seriousness, I was quite impressed with the log tossing abilities and it was quite an entertaining experience.

Anyhoo, enough about brawny Scottish men.... and onto cards! A friend asked for a card for a friend of theirs that just recently got married in Germany.

Since the sentiment was more personalized, I printed it out (which next time I'd actually measure a little better since I ran out of space on my first attempt). I embossed the image in silver and then added a fun punched border instead of using patterned paper.

They didn't request any certain colors so I went with my new fave color combo - gray and purple. I was watching "Design Star" (yes, I watch a lot of bad tv) and they re-did someone's office in those colors and it was just so fresh looking.

Snow globe!

Hope everyone had a grand Labor Day weekend! :) We've just been relaxing for the most part. The bbq yesterday was lovely -- absolutely perfect weather!

I'm slipping in with this fun Moxie Fab challenge. This challenge was to stamp something! :) I've always loved snow globes so what better way to get into the holiday spirit than to make a fun stamped globe? So I decided to stamp a fun little snow globe scene.

I stamped the snow man and then cut him out. To avoid killing his arms I cut his arms out separately and adhered them to the back. This gave me a little more control with the little fingers. The trees were from the same set and I LOVE them. :) I paper pieced them with some fun paper and colored their trunks with my copics.


For the "snow", I tore some paper and then edged the ink with glue and adhered some fun snow glitter. LOVE this stuff! To complete my winter scene, I decided to cut a small 4 1/4 inch circle and then adhere them to a circle. And I added a fun little wooden base to complete my snow globe look.

Since both my snowman and my trees had a little heart on them, I punched another heart with the same paper to add to my sentiment. Gives it a cute little look down there.

It is time to start thinking about xmas cards sadly... I think I have about 60 on my list this year. Yikes! If I start now I might actually have a chance of getting them out on time! Maybe....

Wedding Cards Project

Hope everyone's having a great Labor Day weekend! :) Well, at least those of you in the US. The hubs and I have been chilling so far but we're heading out to a fun little bbq today. I made some tomato and moz salad to share - yum-o! I could eat it all by myself! :D

Also loving the holiday sales. I picked up some new stamps already (haha, don't tell the hubs just yet...). I couldn't help it!

I wanted to finish a few scrappy projects this weekend and I've been pretty good about it so far! :) No cards to share but a fun way to save your cards!

I had a stack of wedding cards and I couldn't bear to toss them so I figured I'd save them all in a decorated little book. This would work for birthday cards as well, wedding shower cards... (when I find them....).. the possibilities are endless here!

I punched holes into all of them and strung them through a metal ring. I tied some pink, green, and white ribbons around the metal ring. Brings me back to high school when the cheerleaders used to tie multiple ribbons in their hair...

I organized them by friends, family and family friends. I put our friends first cos they wrote the most, family next cos some of them did write stuff and then family friends last. Mainly cos most of them wrote stuff in Chinese that I can't read. Hah.For the cover, I took a piece of A2 cardboard I had (I think it was from a cardstock package or something...). Cut it in half and then proceeded to decorate it. I had some yummy Amy Butler paper from the Tea line and the Lotus line. I'm actually hoping to find that fabric as well -- I'd love to make a fun bag or something with it. Especially now that I need to find some sewing projects to amuse myself with!

Ok, I digress... the rubons and die cuts are also Amy Butler. The thickers are cloth ones from American Crafts... I LOVE these. The texture on them is just fab. I'm not sure I would have bought these on my own but now that I've used them... I NEED MORE! Ok, also need to do more scrappy projects but that's aside from the point. I wanty!
My metal ring was just a tough squeeze for the number of cards I had... I didn't think I had that many... so I will be getting some bigger rings later so it's easier to flip through the cards. Otherwise, it's a great way to put the cards out so that the hubs and I can reminisce about the wedding. And its so much prettier than in a box or something, don't you think? :D

When I find my wedding shower cards, I'll do the same. I just can't remember where I've stashed them... with all our moving furniture around I've lost track of the "safe" spot I've put them. I could have sworn they were with my wedding cards...
