For some reason, I'm not feeling the craftiness -- actually, I'm pretty much out of whack this whole week so far. On Monday, I screwed up my dates and tried to attend an event that was supposed to be the following Monday. Boy did I feel stupid! Do you ever do that? Man, I'm normally really not like that -- I'm going to blame having to be up at 4am that day.
On the other hand, I just spent some time at Whole Foods walking around. :) Got some tempeh which I'm pretty sure my husband will never even try -- although the only thing I know what to do with it is to fry it (so that's a point in its favor). Anyone worked with this care to give me any hints?
As much as I love sharing my personal food adventures (and blonde moments), I'm sure you guys want to see something crafty as well. Since I haven't been feeling the crafting bug lately, I'll share my August pubs with CARDS Magazine. (Thanks, CARDS!)
Loving the kraft! ;-) Hope you all have a fab rest of the week and thanks for stopping by!
Hi Belinda,
ReplyDeleteThese are very pretty cards!!! Love the combi of kraft and the colorful papers, very nice!!!
I've had some wonderful tempeh dishes with the local Indonesian restaurant here, when I had the vegetarian combo dish, but don't know the recipe, but I'm sure that frying is not the only thing to do with it. They make a spicy boemboe and 'boil' it in there. You should really Google some Indonesian recipes, what I had was all delicious!!
Have a wonderful day!
Hugs, Wendy
Beautiful cards, Belinda! I'm loving the kraft, too! Hope you have a wonderful weekend, and get some nice chillaxin time with your hubby, and maybe some mojo will find it's way back to you!
ReplyDeleteHi there -- the cards are really lovely!
ReplyDeleteThere are plenty of tasty things to make with tempeh. I think that it's one of the non-meat protein sources that can be satisfying to meat-eaters, in part because of the texture and "substance" that it has, unlike tofu. You might try Googling some recipes. If your husband likes Italian food, Tempeh Parmesan is a tasty treat. For years I've used chopped tempeh (think ground beef style) cooked with onions and a bit of red sauce to hold it together as a base for tacos. Plenty of non-vegetarians have enjoyed that at my house.
The main thing is don't be afraid of it. It's a wonderful food, and there are plenty of ways to enjoy it. Do a little detective work, and I think you'll have fun -- these are the types of situations where I really appreciate the Internet. Bon appetit!
These are fantastic Belinda! Love them both. Thanks for sharing your moments - we all have them!
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are just wonderful!

Oh my gosh, Belinda tempeh is one of my favorite food! My mom cooked a killer one. She usually added lots of thai pepper, though to make it all yummy & spicy! Awesome cards, too! LOL, you should see my reaction when I saw you writing about tempeh! :)
